This depends on whether the wood used is sustainably sourced. Sustainable wood sources are wood from FSC-certified plantations, or wood sources used from trees that are cut down when they are no longer worth using.
The quality of brushing remains the same, regardless of the type of material used to make the handle. Good tooth brushing depends more on the bristles, the head of the toothbrush, and proper brushing technique.
Only the handle of our toothbrush is biodegradable, not the bristles. At the moment, the only eco-friendly toothbrush that is 100% compostable has bristles made from pig bristles.
